We had a full price, cash offer on the farm. Yay!
After a week, they backed out. I’m so sick of the process I just want to scream. Granted, we have stuff to do at the farm before we could close on a sale. There are things like some trash that needs to be hauled away, some personal items that have to get moved to our storage shed, and some stuff we need to decide whether or not to include with the sale. (The hay wagon, for instance)
The most frustrating thing, however, is that I need to buy a used riding lawnmower. We sold our tractor last fall after a final lawn cutting. And since we signed contracts multiple times, we never expected to make it to grass-growing season before the actual sale happened. But here we are.
And no, honestly we can’t afford to invest MORE into the farm. But borrowing a mower will quickly cost more than buying a used one from Facebook Marketplace. (Fuel alone to go out and pick up the trailer, then drive to wherever we’d borrow it from, drive it back, mow, load it up, trailer it back to the owner, then return the trailer to the farm, then drive back home… it’s a full day of driving a truck that gets 10MPG)
I just want to get the whole selling process over. It’s been over 6 months, and so many people have agreed to a price and signed a contract, only to back out and refuse to relinquish their deposit.
Oh, and I have to mow the lawn at our house too.
STUPID ADULTHOOD!
